Triathletes Ben Hoffman & Heather Jackson
Talk about Gravel Cycling
After both landing on the Kona World Championship podium in 2019, neither Heather Jackson or Ben Hoffman could have imagined just one year later they’d be trading Kona, Hawaii, for Cedar City, Utah. Or, rather than riding a 112-mile time trial through the lava fields, they’d be ripping down dirt roads with other gravel racers on a 125-mile route. Other than some adventure rides to stay fit and continue enjoying the bike, the season was a bust for them until October rolled around and the Belgian Waffle Ride in Cedar City became the first major event in the US since March. Watch Heather and Ben discuss how gravel and adventure riding filled the racing void this year, and what made the Ironman Champions nervous when thinking about their first gravel race.
