Bike Check: No22’s Spectacularly Custom Stumpjumper
You know when an employee of boutique frame builder No22 builds up a personal bike, it’s going to be beautiful. Starting with an S-Works Specialized Stumpjumper frame, Tony Brandotti hand-selected each component to create a subtle but beautiful bike that gets more impressive the closer you look at it. It features an M6 cockpit and rims, customized with Tune hubs, vinyl-cord-constructed Berd spokes, and even color-matched anodized valve stems. Custom rim decals come from Stikrd, matched with the Oak Green finish of the frame. One wild bit we don’t think we’ve seen before comes in the form of a custom fade-finished anodized titanium crankset.
“In an effort to build a mountain bike (or any bike for that matter) that isn’t monochromatic…the S-Works Stumpjumper in “Gloss Oak Green Metallic” was the base of which to build off of with the complementing colors of SRAM’s XX1 Eagle Copper cassette. It’s easy to overdo the accenting pieces so the details had to be minimal (anodizing the valve stems, M6 stem bolts, and a unique fade finish to the titanium crankset). STIKRD was the ideal partner for custom fork and wheel decals that allowed the green to be more visible as well.
“At 140mm front and 130mm rear travel, this full suspension should be the one trick pony for most of what Upstate NY has to offer.”
